Bacchus Marsh Lions Club

Lions Train
The Lions train is used to provide entertainment for children at events such as local fetes and fundraisers. It was also seen recently at Relay For Life where it was used to ferry teams to their tent sites around Maddingley Park.

Youth of the Year
This is project where local secondary schools nominate leading student to participate in a quest designed to provide personal development opportunities for those who participate. A most worthy project that includes a fantastic public speaking section where the students have never failed to impress the audience and Judges.

Christmas Cakes
A favourite for many families for the festive season.

Clean up Australia Day
Lions have supported this project for many years and have removed many bags of litter from our fantastic Avenue of Honor.

Relay for Life
An event to allow everyone and anyone to participate in the organised fight against cancer in a positive family environment. In its first year this annual event has raised well over forty thousand dollars with bigger and better expected next year.

Cash a Can
On the third saturday of the month 9.30 am - 11.30 am in the Moorabool Shire carpark in Main St Bacchus Marsh. Turn your aluminium cans in to some pocket money, help recycle & allow Lions to genereate some funds to spend in our community.

BBQ - Grow West & Ecolink
Lions cooks up great BBQ's for these local environmental groups as they do wonderfull things for our local environment. One recent highlight was feeding a host of hungry greenies who have done great work planting trees & cleaning up at Meickles Point in the werribbe Gorge. Do yourself a favour and get out there and have a look at this hidden gem.

Australia Day BBQ
Lions supports Moorabool Shire activities on australia Day and cooks a hearty breakfast for those attending this important national ceremony.

Royal Childrens Hospital Good Friday Appeal
For many years a Lion has been the local area manager for this very worthy project. Lions members also assist with tin rattling up to and on the day and provides members to count and prepare the donations prior to it being banked.

Maddingley Park Table / Seats - Constuction
Lions have participated in construction and erecting facilities at this great park. A recent highlight is the replacement of the dilapidated heritage roofed seat with a solidly constructed replica that will provide comfort for park users for many years to come.

David Calleja Memorial Car Show
Lions are pleased to be involved in this fundraising fun event to support Djerriwarrh Health Services. Our local hospital is a facility that deserves to be nurtured and Lions are proud to be involved.

School Encouragement Awards
Lions are proude to provide cash grants to local primary Schools with which to award and reward deserving young students.

Other projects
Lions become involved in any number of other projects over the course of a year. Some examples are working bees done at the Laurels, Merrimu Centre & Blackwood Special Schools Outdoor Education Centre.
