The aim of the Forum is to offer more choices for disability respite care for Residents of Moorabool Shire. The organisations listed below provide professional, caring and qualified Management and Staff to suit the needs of every individual.

These organisations provide a variety of service options for you, e.g.

  • In-Home Respite is where a professionally qualified care staff comes to the home to give families/carers a short break for all those special occasions, such as a night out for dinner/restaurant, a special party or maybe some time to yourself/s away from the home for a couple of hours or more, to do as you please.
  • Pleasurable day or night Activities / Outings to suit the need of the individual living with a disability. These times are great for the person to socialize, make friends and have something special for himself or herself.
  • After hours Emergency Contact numbers - Just a phone call away when an emergency arises.
  • A special Camp / Holiday with caring and experienced staff to support the person during their stay and provide a memorable experience.
  • Overnight Facility based respite run by professional and qualified caring staff. This option gives carers time to recharge their batteries, have a night out, go on a holiday or stay at home and do as you please. These times are also great for the person living with a disability to socialise, make friends and have something special for him or herself. You may want to access the facility overnight, weekends and school holidays. Facility based respite options can be flexible to the first time user in providing a transition period for the person to become familiar with the facility, staff and other clients. The person may join the facility for lunch or dinner or go on an outing with the facility staff and otherclients.

The organisations that provide these services have policies and procedures in place to assist carers / families / person living with a disability, to handle any queries, disputes or complaints that may arise, in a professional and timely manner.
